The fertilizer spreader was introduced
Various types of spreaders:
A pendulum spreader is a fertilizer spreader with a spreading pipe that moves from left to right. This gives the fertilizer speed and ensures a wide spread of the fertilizer.
The spreading width depends on the pipe length, the drive speed and the length of the stroke.
A pendulum spreader can be used in the lifting device or as a trailed spreader. Today there is only one manufacturer of pendulum spreaders. These spreaders are particularly popular in livestock farming.
The advantage of these spreaders is that, regardless of the quality of the mineral fertilizer, they almost always give a good spreading pattern. In this way, a reasonably good spreading pattern can still be achieved with poor quality fertilizer. In addition, this spreader is not very sensitive to wind. A disadvantage of this system is that the working width is limited.
Disc spreader (centrifugal spreader)
A centrifugal spreader is equipped with one or two spreading discs
The discs are provided with blades.
The working width depends, among other things, on the speed of the blades and the place where the grain ends up on the disc. With a spreader with one disc, it is difficult to obtain a symmetrical spreading pattern, because the fertilizer does not fall in the middle of the disc. A spreader with two discs has the same spreading pattern and therefore spreads more precisely. A disc spreader can achieve a larger working width than a pendulum spreader.
